A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in E-post SPA-PRO Mail @Solomon 4.00. Affected is some unknown functionality of the component IMAP Service. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in the IMAP service for SPA-PRO Mail @Solomon 4.00 allows remote authenticated users to read other users mail and perform operations on arbitrary directories via .. sequences in the (1) SELECT, (2) CREATE, (3) DELETE, and (4) RENAME commands.

The bug was discovered 06/02/2005. The weakness was disclosed 06/02/2005 by Chew Keong TAN (Website). The advisory is available at security.org.sg. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2005-1902 since 06/08/2005. The exploitability is told to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1006 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
