A vulnerability has been found in ASP-Nuke 0.80 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block of the file comment_post.asp. The manipulation of the argument TaskID with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. SQL injection vulnerability in comment_post.asp in ASP Nuke 0.80 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL statements via the TaskID parameter.

The weakness was presented 06/26/2005 by Alberto Trivero (Website). The advisory is available at marc.theaimsgroup.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-2066 since 06/29/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1505 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

A public exploit has been developed by Alberto Trivero in Perl and been published even before and not after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at albythebest.altervista.org. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:comment_post.asp it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
