Details
A vulnerability has been found in IOVisor BPF Compiler Collection on Linux (unknown version) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function KBuildHelper::get_flags of the file src/cc/frontends/clang/kbuild_helper.cc of the component Kernel Header Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a temp file vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-377. Creating and using insecure temporary files can leave application and system data vulnerable to attack. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
If kernel headers need to be extracted, bcc will attempt to load them from a temporary directory. An unprivileged attacker could use this to force bcc to load compromised linux headers. Linux distributions which provide kernel headers by default are not affected by default.
