A vulnerability classified as critical was found in PunBB (Forum Software). Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code block of the file profile.php. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. SQL injection vulnerability in the user profile edit module in profile.php for PunBB 1.2.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL statements via the temp array, which is not initialized before it is used and prevents the attacker-supplied portions of the array from being properly escaped.
The bug was discovered 09/12/2005. The weakness was presented 07/11/2005 by Stefan Esser with Hardened-PHP Project (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at hardened-php.net.
