Format string vulnerability in the paginit command in IBM AIX 5.3, and possibly other versions, might allow local users to execute arbitrary code via format strings in command line arguments.

The issue has been introduced in 08/01/2004. The weakness was presented 07/12/2005 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-2236 since 07/12/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. Attacking locally is a requirement.
