A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Mojolicious Module up to 8.64 on Perl. This vulnerability affects the function secure_compare. The Mojolicious module before 8.65 for Perl is vulnerable to secure_compare timing attacks that allow an attacker to guess the length of a secret string. Only versions after 1.74 are affected.
The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2020-36829 since 04/07/2024. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.
