The weakness was presented 08/10/2005 by Steve Grubb (iDefense) with iDEFENSE (Website). The advisory is shared for download at gentoo.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2005-2361 since 07/26/2005. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
