Details
A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.1.82/6.6.22/6.7.10/6.8.1. It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is the function wfx_set_mfp_ap of the component wifi. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory leak vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-401. The product does not sufficiently track and release allocated memory after it has been used, which slowly consumes remaining memory. Impacted is availability. CVE summarizes:

It appears the issue is related to wfx_set_mfp_ap(). The issue is obvious in this function: memory allocated by ieee80211_beacon_get() is never released. Fixing this leak makes kmemleak happy.
