A vulnerability has been found in MyBB Rc1/Rc2/Rc3/Rc4 (Content Management System) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the file member.php. The manipulation of the argument fid with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. SQL injection vulnerability in member.php in MyBulletinBoard (MyBB) allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL statements via the fid parameter.

The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. It is assigned to the family CGI abuses. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 12178 (/etc/passwd File Accessible through MyBB Member.PHP SQL Injection).
