We try to create an inline extent for them, but we fail when trying to insert the inline extent with -ENOSPC (at cow_file_range_inline()) - since this is not critical, we fallback to non-inline mode (back to cow_file_range()), reserve extents ---truncated---

Upgrading to version 5.10.147, 5.15.71, 5.19.12 or 6.0 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 6ac5b52e3f35/d8a76a2e514f/c338bea1fec5/a362bb864b8d is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at git.kernel.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
