A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.8.2. This issue affects the function dc_state of the component AMD Display. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. Impacted is availability. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Add a dc_state NULL check in dc_state_release [How] Check wheather state is NULL before releasing it.
