Unchecked script execution in Graphic on-click binding in affected LibreOffice versions allows an attacker to create a document which without prompt will execute scripts built-into LibreOffice on clicking a graphic. Such scripts were previously deemed trusted but are now deemed untrusted.

The weakness was shared by Amel Bouziane-Leblond. The advisory is available at libreoffice.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2024-3044 since 03/28/2024. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
