A vulnerability was found in SAP Web Application Server up to 7.00 (Application Server Software) and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown code block. Unspecified vulnerability in enserver.exe in SAP Web Application Server 6.40 before patch 136 and 7.00 before patch 66 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via crafted data on a "3200+SYSNR" TCP port, as demonstrated by port 3201. NOTE: this issue can be leveraged by local users to access a named pipe as the SAPServiceJ2E user.
The weakness was released 11/02/2006 by Nicob as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-5784 since 11/07/2006. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1068 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
A public exploit has been developed by Nicob and been published 4 months after the advisory. The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. We expect the 0-day to have been worth approximately $25k-$100k.
