Multiple buffer overflows in ALZip 6.12 (Korean), 6.1 (International), and 5.52 (English) allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long filename in a compressed (1) ALZ, (2) ARJ, (3) ZIP, (4) UUE, or (5) XXE archive.
The bug was discovered 09/19/2005. The weakness was published 10/05/2005 by Tan Chew Keong with Secunia Research (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2005-3194 since 10/14/2005. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
