This vulnerability was named CVE-2021-47260. There is no available exploit.
You should upgrade the affected component.
Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Linux Kernel up to 5.12.10. This affects the function nfs_get_client. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit. This is going to have an impact on availability. The summary by CVE is:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFS: Fix a potential NULL dereference in nfs_get_client() None of the callers are expecting NULL returns from nfs_get_client() so this code will lead to an Oops. It's better to return an error pointer. I expect that this is dead code so hopefully no one is affected.
