A vulnerability was found in emrevona WP Fastest Cache Plugin up to 1.2.6 on WordPress. It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is the function specificDeleteCache of the file wp-config.php. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The WP Fastest Cache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.6 via the specificDeleteCache function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can include wp-config.php files of the affected site or other sites in a shared hosting environment.
The weakness was disclosed by Khayal Farzaliyev. The advisory is shared for download at wordfence.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2024-4347 since 04/30/2024. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are required for exploitation.
