A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in phpAdsNew up to 2.0.7 Rc1. This affects an unknown functionality of the file lib-sessions.inc.php. The manipulation of the argument sessionID with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in lib-sessions.inc.php in phpAdsNew and phpPgAds 2.0.6 and possibly earlier versions allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the sessionID parameter in (1) logout.php and (2) index.php.
The weakness was disclosed 11/10/2005 by Toni Koivunen (Website). The advisory is shared at marc.theaimsgroup.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2005-3646 since 11/17/2005. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:lib-sessions.inc.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
