It is advisable to upgrade the affected component.
Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Linux Kernel up to 5.16.9. This affects the function array_index_nospec of the component vt_ioctl. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a integer underflow vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-191. The product subtracts one value from another, such that the result is less than the minimum allowable integer value, which produces a value that is not equal to the correct result. The impact remains unknown. The summary by CVE is:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vt_ioctl: fix array_index_nospec in vt_setactivate array_index_nospec ensures that an out-of-bounds value is set to zero on the transient path. Decreasing the value by one afterwards causes a transient integer underflow. vsa.console should be decreased first and then sanitized with array_index_nospec.
