A vulnerability was found in Torrential 1.2 (Peer-to-Peer Software). It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the file getdox.php. The manipulation of the argument string with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in getdox.php in Torrential 1.2 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via "../" sequences in the query string argument.
The weakness was presented 11/21/2005 with Shell (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-4160 since 12/11/2005.
