A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Coinsoft Technologies phpCOIN 1.2.2. This issue affects an unknown function of the file coin_includes/db.php. The manipulation of the argument _ccfg[_pkg_path_dbse with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in coin_includes/db.php in phpCOIN 1.2.2 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary local files via ".." (dot dot) sequences in the $_CCFG[_PKG_PATH_DBSE] variable.
