Stack-based buffer overflow in the trace message functionality in Pegasus Mail 4.21a through 4.21c and 4.30PB1 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long POP3 reply.
The weakness was presented 12/20/2005 by Tan Chew Keong with Secunia Research (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at pmail.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-4444 since 12/21/2005. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely.
