A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in dset up to 3.1.3. Affected is the function dset. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a prototype pollution vulnerability. The product receives input from an upstream component that specifies attributes that are to be initialized or updated in an object, but it does not properly control modifications of attributes of the object prototype. Versions of the package dset before 3.1.4 are vulnerable to Prototype Pollution via the dset function due improper user input sanitization. This vulnerability allows the attacker to inject malicious object property using the built-in Object property __proto__, which is recursively assigned to all the objects in the program.
The advisory is shared for download at security.snyk.io. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2024-21529 since 12/22/2023. The exploitability is told to be easy.
