A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in mcafee virusscan enterprise 8.0i (Anti-Malware Software). This issue affects an unknown functionality of the file program.exe. unquoted windows search path vulnerability in mcafee virusscan enterprise 8.0i (patch 11) and cma 3.5 (patch 5) might allow local users to gain privileges via a malicious "program.exe" file in the c: folder which is run by naprdmgr.exe when it attempts to execute entvutil.exe under an unquoted "program files" path.
The weakness was shared 12/22/2005 by Reed Arvin (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-4505 since 12/22/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
