A vulnerability was found in IDV Directory Viewer up to 2005.0. It has been classified as problematic. This affects an unknown function of the file index.php. The manipulation of the argument dir with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in index.php in IDV Directory Viewer before 2005.1 allows remote attackers to view arbitrary directory contents via a .. (dot dot) in the dir parameter.
