A vulnerability was found in Changing Information Technology IDExpert up to 2.8. It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code block of the component Administrator Interface. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a absolute path traversal vulnerability. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that should be within a restricted directory, but it does not properly neutralize absolute path sequences such as "/abs/path" that can resolve to a location that is outside of that directory. IDExpert from CHANGING Information Technology does not properly validate a specific parameter in the administrator interface, allowing remote attackers with administrator privileges to exploit this vulnerability to read arbitrary system files.
