A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Fog Creek Software FogBugz 4.029. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the file default.asp. The manipulation of the argument dest with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in default.asp in FogBugz 4.029, and other versions before 4.0.33, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the dest parameter in the pgLogon page.
The bug was discovered 12/11/2005. The weakness was presented 01/12/2006 by M.Neset KABAKLI (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com.
