Details
A vulnerability was found in Siemens SINEC INS up to 1.0 SP2 Update 2. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality of the component SFTP. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
A vulnerability has been identified in SINEC INS (All versions < V1.0 SP2 Update 3). The affected application does not properly sanitize user provided paths for SFTP-based file up- and downloads.
