A vulnerability has been found in Etomite 0.6 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function popen of the file manager/includes/todo.inc.php. The manipulation of the argument cij with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. Etomite Content Management System 0.6, and possibly earlier versions, when downloaded from the web site in January 2006 after January 10, contains a back door in manager/includes/todo.inc.php, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via the "cij" parameter.
The weakness was presented 01/19/2006 by Luca Ercoli (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-0325 since 01/20/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1202.
