Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Advantech EKI-6333AC-2G, EKI-6333AC-2GD and EKI-6333AC-1GPO (the affected version is unknown). Affected is the function snmp_apply of the component API. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
A CWE-78 "Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection')" was discovered affecting the following devices manufactured by Advantech: EKI-6333AC-2G (<= 1.6.3), EKI-6333AC-2GD (<= v1.6.3) and EKI-6333AC-1GPO (<= v1.2.1). The source of the vulnerability relies on multiple parameters belonging to the "snmp_apply" API which are not properly sanitized before being concatenated to OS level commands.
