Eval injection vulnerability in sessions.inc in PHP Base Library (PHPLib) before 7.4a, when index.php3 from the PHPLib distribution is available on the server, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code by including a base64-encoded representation of the code in a cookie. NOTE: this description was significantly updated on 20060605 to reflect new details after an initial vague advisory.
The weakness was disclosed 02/23/2006 by James Bercegay with Gulftech (Website). The advisory is shared at sourceforge.net. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2006-0887 since 02/25/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059 for this issue.

Upgrading to version 7.4a eliminates this vulnerability.
