A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in phpLDAPadmin up to 1.2.6.7. This issue affects some unknown functionality of the component LDAP Directory Export Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a csv injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-1236. The product saves user-provided information into a Comma-Separated Value (CSV) file, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could be interpreted as a command when the file is opened by a spreadsheet product. phpLDAPadmin since at least version 1.2.0 through the latest version 1.2.6.7 allows users to export elements from the LDAP directory into a Comma-Separated Value (CSV) file, but it does not neutralize special elements that could be interpreted as a command when the file is opened by a spreadsheet product. Thus, this could lead to CSV Formula Injection.
The weakness was presented by Andreas Pfefferle. It is possible to read the advisory at redguard.ch. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2024-9102 since 09/23/2024. The exploitation is known to be easy. Attacking locally is a requirement. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
Applying the patch ea17aadef46fd29850160987fe7740ceed1381ad is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com.
