A vulnerability has been found in Francisco Burzi PHP-Nuke 7.8 (Content Management System) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file %2a. The manipulation of the argument kala with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. SQL injection vulnerability in PHP-Nuke before 7.8 Patched 3.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via encoded /%2a (/*) sequences in the query string, which bypasses regular expressions that are intended to protect against SQL injection, as demonstrated via the kala parameter.
The weakness was disclosed 02/27/2006 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at waraxe.us. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-0907 since 02/28/2006. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
