That leads to potential inaccuracies which can be tolerated when using kfence.
The advisory is available at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2024-53687 since 01/09/2025. The exploitation appears to be easy. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 01/25/2026).

Upgrading to version 6.6.67 or 6.12.6 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 6f796a6a396d6f963f2cc8f5edd7dfba2cca097f/3abfc4130c4222099c69d023fed97f1180a8ad7b/b3431a8bb336cece8adc452437befa7d4534b2fd is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at git.kernel.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
