A vulnerability was found in David Ravenscroft HitHost 1.0.0 and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing. The manipulation of the argument deleteuser with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in admin/deleteuser.php in HitHost 1.0.0 might allow remote attackers to delete directories (possibly only empty directories) via the $deleteuser variable. NOTE: the initial disclosure for this issue indicated that the researcher was unable to prove this issue; however, this might have been due to certain behaviors of rmdir.
