The sample files in the authfiles directory in Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 before SP2 allow remote attackers to bypass authentication by logging in to authfiles/login.asp with a valid username and any password, then going to the main site twice.
The weakness was presented 03/16/2006 by Dimitri van de Giessen as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2006-1257 since 03/18/2006. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Applying the patch 2002 SP2 is able to eliminate this problem.
