Details
A vulnerability was found in Sherzod Ruzmetov Cgi Session 4.03-1. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function CGI::Session. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a symlink vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-61. The product, when opening a file or directory, does not sufficiently account for when the file is a symbolic link that resolves to a target outside of the intended control sphere. This could allow an attacker to cause the product to operate on unauthorized files. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
CGI::Session 4.03-1 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on temporary files used by (1) Driver::File, (2) Driver::db_file, and possibly (3) Driver::sqlite.
