A vulnerability was found in dotNetBB Dotnetbb Forums up to 2.42ec (Forum Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code block of the file iforget.aspx. The manipulation of the argument em with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in iforget.aspx in dotNetBB 2.42EC SP 3 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the em parameter.
The weakness was presented 03/25/2006 by r0t (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-1415 since 03/28/2006.
