Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Google Go 1.24rc2. Affected is an unknown functionality of the component cmd-go. The manipulation of the argument executable_path/loader_path/rpath with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-77. The product constructs all or part of a command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
On Darwin, building a Go module which contains CGO can trigger arbitrary code execution when using the Apple version of ld, due to usage of the @executable_path, @loader_path, or @rpath special values in a "#cgo LDFLAGS" directive. This issue only affected go1.24rc2.
