admin/accounts/AccountActions.asp in Hosting Controller 2002 RC 1 allows remote attackers to modify passwords of other users, probably via an "Update User" ActionType with a modified UserName parameter and the PassCheck parameter set to TRUE. It was later reported that the vulnerability is present in 6.1 Hotfix 3.3 and earlier.

The weakness was released 04/02/2006 by Paolo Difebbo (Website). The advisory is shared at archives.neohapsis.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-1620 since 04/05/2006. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
