A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Czaries Network CzarNews 1.14. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the file news.php. The manipulation of the argument email with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in news.php in CzarNews 1.14 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the email parameter.
The weakness was presented 04/04/2006 by Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-1640 since 04/06/2006. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
