Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Wattsense Bridge (affected version not known). Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the component JTAG Interface. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a on-chip debug and test interface with improper access control vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-1191. The chip does not implement or does not correctly perform access control to check whether users are authorized to access internal registers and test modes through the physical debug/test interface. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
The JTAG interface of Wattsense Bridge devices can be accessed with physical access to the PCB. After connecting to the interface, full access to the device is possible. This enables an attacker to extract information, modify and debug the device's firmware. All known versions are affected.
The weakness was published by Steffen Robertz | Sec Consult Vulnerability Lab. The advisory is shared for download at r.sec-consult.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2025-26408 since 02/10/2025. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally.
