A vulnerability was found in Manic Web MWNewsletter 1.0.0b. It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown part of the file unsubscribe.php. The manipulation of the argument user_name with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in MWNewsletter 1.0.0b allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) user_email parameter to (a) unsubscribe.php or (b) subscribe.php; or the (2) user_name parameter to subscribe.php. NOTE: the provenance of this information is unknown; the details are obtained solely from third party information, although it is likely that this was discovered during post-disclosure analysis.
The weakness was released 04/06/2006 by Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at vupen.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2006-1692 since 04/10/2006. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1505 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:unsubscribe.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
