Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in newthread.php in MyBB (aka MyBulletinBoard) 1.10, when configured to permit new threads by unregistered users, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the username.
The weakness was disclosed 04/11/2006 as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2006-1717 since 04/11/2006. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
