A vulnerability has been found in Exim 4.98 and classified as problematic. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. The impact remains unknown. CVE summarizes:

Exim 4.98 before 4.98.1, when SQLite hints and ETRN serialization are used, allows remote SQL injection. (Resolving SQL injection requires an update to 4.99.1 in certain non-default rate-limit configurations.)
