Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in SAXoTECH SAXoPRESS (version now known). This affects some unknown processing in the library pbcs.dll. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in misc in pbcs.dll in SAXoTECH SAXoPRESS, aka Saxotech Online (formerly Publicus) allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files and possibly execute arbitrary programs via a .. (dot dot) in the url parameter.
