A vulnerability has been found in Arc53 DocsGPT up to 0.12.0 and classified as very critical. This vulnerability affects the function eval of the file /api/remote of the component JSON Data Parser. A vulnerability, that could result in Remote Code Execution (RCE), has been found in DocsGPT. Due to improper parsing of JSON data using eval() an unauthorized attacker could send arbitrary Python code to be executed via /api/remote endpoint. This issue affects DocsGPT: from 0.8.1 through 0.12.0.

The weakness was shared by Eryk Winiarz. The advisory is available at cert.pl. This vulnerability was named CVE-2025-0868 since 01/30/2025. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
