CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 5.10.120/5.15.45/5.17.13/5.18.2. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function lpfc_sli4_send_seq_to_ulp. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory leak vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-401. The product does not sufficiently track and release allocated memory after it has been used, which slowly consumes remaining memory. As an impact it is known to affect availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: lpfc: Fix resource leak in lpfc_sli4_send_seq_to_ulp() If no handler is found in lpfc_complete_unsol_iocb() to match the rctl of a received frame, the frame is dropped and resources are leaked. Fix by returning resources when discarding an unhandled frame type. Update lpfc_fc_frame_check() handling of NOP basic link service.

The advisory is shared for download at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2022-49521 since 02/26/2025. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
