A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Visale 1.0. This issue affects some unknown functionality of the file pbpgst.cgi. The manipulation of the argument listno with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in Visale 1.0 and earlier allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via (1) the keyval parameter in pbpgst.cgi, (2) the catsubno parameter in pblscg.cgi, and (3) the listno parameter in pblsmb.cgi.
The weakness was released 04/19/2006 by r0t (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-1946 since 04/20/2006. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
