The manipulation of the argument sort_order with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in news/NsVisitor.cgi in KCScripts News Publisher, distributed individually and as part of Portal Pack 6.0 and earlier, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the sort_order parameter.
