Buffer overflow in Ethereal 0.8.5 up to 0.10.14 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via the telnet dissector.
The bug was discovered 04/24/2006. The weakness was disclosed 04/25/2006 with Coverity (Website). The advisory is available at ethereal.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2006-1936 since 04/20/2006. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
